Our Learning Priorities
Our learning priorities are designed around the learning we value here at York Place Preschool & Nursery. It is made up of five learning priorities which guide our programme planning and implementation. You will see links to these in our documentation and through our programme planning.

Classes
We offer care and education for 0 - 5 year olds. This is divided into the Nursery/Tui room for children aged 0-2 years and the Preschool/Pukeko room for children aged 2-5 years with separate indoor and outdoor areas for each age group. We love spending time outdoors and the Pukeko class has an open door the majority of the day so tamariki can choose where to spend their time.
We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 6:00pm.
We work with families to create a learning goal for their child using the NZ curriculum, Te Whāriki and document their progress with learning stories. We allow tamariki to learn through play and provide intentional experiences to expand their learning.
We have been locally owned since 2014 by Sarah and Jonathon Pleace. We are very proud of our centre and pride ourselves on continually improving. Sarah does the admin and oversees the running of the centre alongside the Centre Manager. Jonathon takes care of all the centre improvements, such as playground construction, alterations, painting and maintenance. We have three young children, all of whom attended York Place.
