We are located in the heart of Dunedin. York Place Preschool & Nursery is the perfect early childcare centre for newborns, through to 5 year old's. We are very close to the City Centre, University of Otago, hospital and Octagon.
Open from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday for your convenience and we offer 20ECE hours for 3-5 year olds.
Our childcare centre offers a nurturing and educational environment for your tamariki/children. All of our permanent kaiako/teachers are qualified, registered and are first aid trained. We value small group sizes and well exceed Ministry of Education teacher to child ratio's to allow for many one on one moments, unrushed care routines and intentional teaching.
The centre has great indoor outdoor flow. This is important to us to ensure your child has the freedom to enjoy a great mix of class room time and outdoor experiences. Our older tamariki in the Preschool class have weekly outings into the bush to explore nature. These outings have so many valuable learning opportunities and parents are welcome to join us.
We also have a ready for school programme for our tamariki in the lead up to school to focus on the upcoming transition and skills to assist them in this such as self help skills, fine motor skills, communication and team work.
